Z-RAY HOLD LAST LOOK (HOLD LL)
What is Hold Last Look?
What should happen if the radio signal to a Z-RAY (or the connection to any other DMX light) is lost?
Hold Last Look defines what should happen.
Many DMX lights will have one fixed behaviour that the user cannot change.
They will either instantly switch-off, or remain permanently "stuck" at the last DMX value.
Depending on your application - either one of these may be a disaster!
Z-RAY has a default last look of 1 second - meaning it will gently fade-to-black over that time.
However it may also be set by the the user to 0 (instant blackness), 1 second, 10 seconds, 1 minute, 10 minutes, 1 hour, 10 hours, or 1 day (24 hours).
Think about the behaviour that is right for that particular light, in your particular application.
Also note that is the behaviour defined by loss of the radio signal - such as when power is disconnected from STATION-X.
This is not what happens when the input signal to STATION-X is lost.
If the input to STATION-X is lost, then the radio signal continues to repeat the last DMX input value, until it receives another one.
In this way, you need have no concerns about STATION-X behaviour if, for instance, your software needs to be restarted, or you need to swap apps, or even if you switch STATION-X to use a different input source.
