Z-RAY 4-CHANNEL, 16-CHANNEL OR BRIDGE MODE (SET-UP)
Z-RAY has 3 modes, 4 Channel (4CH), 16 Channel (16C) and Bridge (BRI).
THESE INSTRUCTIONS AS A .PDF FILE
On Reset Z-RAY always starts in 4 Channel mode.
4 Channel (4CH):
DMX 1: Red 0-255.
DMX 2: Green, 0-255.
DMX 3: Blue, 0-255.
DMX 4: White, 0-255.
Each colour accepts a simple 0 to 255 value for brightness.
16-Channel adds a number of extra features:
Very fine adjustment of colours.
Master brightness faders.
Wireless strobe feature.
On/off control of the amber internal glow.
Note that in 16-Channel mode the master brightness faders control all colour values - if the master faders are at 0, there will be no light output.
16 Channel (16C):
DMX 1: Red - coarse, 0-255.
DMX 2: Green - coarse, 0-255.
DMX 3: Blue - coarse, 0-255.
DMX 4: White - coarse, 0-255.
DMX 5: Red - fine, 0-255.
DMX 6: Green - fine, 0-255.
DMX 7: Blue - fine, 0-255.
DMX 8: White - fine, 0-255.
DMX 9: Master fader - coarse, 0-255.
DMX 10: Master fader - fine, 0-255.
DMX 11: Strobe speed, 0 = Off, 1 = 1.83Hz, 255 = 33Hz.
DMX 12: Strobe mark/space, 0 = 4%, 255 = 96% duty-cycle on-time.
DMX 13: Strobe Q/Smoothness, 0 = instantaneous, 255 = maximum smoothing.
DMX 14: Reserved 1
DMX 15: Reserved 2
DMX 16: Amber internal glow On/Off, 0-127 = Off, 128-255 = On.
The wireless strobe feature is intended to overcome the difficulties of synchronising multiple strobes at higher rates.
(Users should follow any regulations applicable to their locality regarding the use of strobe lighting. This may include restrictions on strobe frequency, providing advance information regarding the use of strobe lighting at your events etc. It is the user responsibility to follow all applicable health and safety laws and guidance in your locality).
Bridge (BRI)
Z-RAY acts as a wireless bridge, to provide a wireless connection to any conventional wired-DMX device.
The full DMX Universe is output at the highest possible refresh rate.
DMX 1-512 - all channels available and output via the 5-pin female XLR5 connector.
(Note that the full universe is always available on this connector, regardless of whether Z-RAY is set to 4 Channel, 16 Channel, or Bridge mode - bridge-mode just disables this Z-RAY from lighting up in response to any DMX data - thereby greatly extending its run-time)
