SAFETY INFORMATION
GENERAL
1. Z-RAY and STATION-X should be treated with at least the same care as all other electronics products, including not being subjected to excessive heat, or to excessive cold, or exposed to moisture, or subjected to shocks or impacts, or exposed to chemicals or corrosive or potentially explosive environments.
2. In addition, Z-RAY should be treated with at least the same care as all other electronics products containing batteries.
3. Beware of fire hazards. Z-RAY and STATION-X produce very little heat, and have excellent cooling. However every care should be taken to ensure safety around any inflammable material.
4. If Z-RAY or STATION-X appears to be damaged or malfunctioning in any way, it should not be used until it has been inspected and repaired.
BATTERY
5. Z-RAY contains a rechargeable battery, of the sealed metal-can 18650 lithium type.
(STATION-X contains no battery, and must be powered from USB).
6. Z-RAY is compatible with all USB chargers, and will fast charge with most most fast chargers, with an appropriate charging cable.
7. Z-RAY includes a modern, high-quality battery-management system that will prevent over-charging and ensure safety. This system limits current, voltage and charge duration during charging, and current usage during operation.
8. Z-RAY includes temperature sensing to ensure that charging is prevented whilst it is excessively cold or excessively hot, and to prevent full operation beyond a safe temperature range.
9. If Z-RAY is transported by air, then the law in that jurisdiction, along with airline or courier company's regulations regarding lithium batteries must be observed.
(Most restrictions only apply to larger batteries, with a rating above 100 Wh watt-hours. Z-RAY easily complies with this)
CHILDREN AND SMALL PARTS HAZARDS
10. STATION-X and Z-RAY should not be handled or used by younger children. It is possible to detach small parts that may be choking hazards.
11. STATION-X and Z-RAY may be suitable for older children, but such usage should be appropriately supervised if there any doubts regarding safety, or competence or responsibility.
OPERATOR SAFETY
12. If working at height, or in confined spaces, all appropriate legal regulations, and safety rules should be observed.
13. Do not attempt to use STATION-X or Z-RAY whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or whilst excessively tired, or unwell, or otherwise impaired.
OTHER EQUIPMENT
14. STATION-X and Z-RAY is typically used with, and may be connected to, other equipment such as USB chargers, computers, lighting control desks, DMX equipment, lighting gantries and rigs etc. It is your responsibility to ensure that this equipment is in good condition, safe to operate, that operators are suitably qualified and experienced, and that all activities are carried out in a safe, competent, and responsible manner.
MINIMUM STANDARDS
15. The above should be considered the non-inclusive bare minimum of acceptable safety standards. Every reasonable additional safety precaution appropriate to your location, legal jurisdiction, qualification, experience, age, fitness and health, mental health and mental capacity, and any additional hazards that may be present, should also be considered.
