STATION-X - FULL
STATION-X is the wireless interface - accepting standard DMX data from your lighting desk, or from your computer - and sending the DMX data out to all your Z-RAY's.
There's lots of free DMX lighting software available for Windows and Mac, and some excellent and reasonably-priced commercial software too.
Power it from any USB power-source (including a power-bank or computer).
It connects to your computer via a USB cable, and if you're using your computer to drive the light show - that's the only cable you'll need - the rest is wireless.
If you're using a hardware lighting desk, it will output DMX over a 5-pin, or 3-pin XLR connector (some have both) - and you'll need to connect it to the DMX input of STATION-X via its 5-pin XLR input.
STATION-X is also incredibly flexible - so if you have existing wired DMX lighting - that can be hooked up too.
From a computer, STATION-X accepts DMX over USB, and sends that out as radio signals to Z-RAY, but also outputs DMX through a standard 5-pin XLR - ready to connect to your existing wired lights.
Similarly, from a lighting desk, STATION-X just connects into the DMX daisy-chain, and transparently passes-through DMX data from 5-pin XLR input, to 5-pin XLR output.
What's more - it can do both at the same time (there's 2 DMX outputs - allowing either or both inputs to be used as pass-thru's).
STATION-X has just one big control knob in the middle.
And that's it. Just one control.
We've all been there with troublesome, unfathomable set-up issues - so Think Radio keeps it simple.
Any DMX-over-USB input, gets sent straight out to the corresponding DMX XLR output.
Any DMX input passes straight through to its corresponding DMX XLR output.
All the rotary control does is select which source gets sent out via radio to the Z-RAY's.
It's a 5 position control - with positions to select either 1) DMX DATA IN, 2) some internally generated EFFECTS (great for set-up and as an idler), 3) instant BLACKOUT, 4) instant HOUSE lights, or 5) USB DATA IN.
You'll probably use 1) or 5) the most - but sometimes it's mighty convenient to be able to reach for one hardware switch for house lights or blackout.
Think of it like the source selector on your HiFi - it really is that easy.
