Z-RAY RADIO SPECS
ABOUT THE RADIO COMMUNICATIONS
We start with the best radio hardware available - and that's Nordic Semiconductor's ARM-based microcontrollers. Nothing can beat them on radio performance and power efficiency.
You may well in the past have suffered from poorly-performing wireless systems such as Bluetooth and WiFi - experiencing random delays and lost signals.
That's why Think Radio designed a new radio protocol from the ground up - specifically for the requirements of wireless DMX lighting.
We have achieved a truly ground-breaking 7.5ms latency.
That's not 7.5ms per-light - that's to update every single Z-RAY in your DMX universe.
What does that mean? It means any time you change the lighting - the whole system responds instantly, with no visible lag no matter how many Z-RAY's you have.
That's right no scalability issue - the system does not slow down when more Z-RAY's are added. And there are no limits to the number of Z-RAY's you can add to your system either.
Again, this is the actual data-sheet used by electronics engineers to design products, and is, of necessity, complicated. But it is above all accurate, and not some cherry-picked numbers that tends to misrepresent real-world performance.
Note that Think Radio uses a Swiss-made u-blox, worldwide type-approved module, incorporating additional range-boosting technology into both STATION-X and Z-RAY.
Also note that this is a multi-mode radio capable of supporting several radio protocol systems (including Bluetooth) - however Think Radio's system uses a fully-custom radio protocol designed from the ground up specifically to support DMX. It does not use Bluetooth or WiFi protocols.
