It's complicated to give exact like-for-like comparisons, as every manufacturer measures their products to show them in the best possible 'light'!
Overall it can be honesty stated that the Chauvet Freedom H1 offers only a considerably reduced light output, at only a slightly reduced price - compared to Z-RAY.
And that the Astera Pixel Brick offers similar performance to Z-RAY - but at a considerably higher price point.
In addition, Z-RAY offers easy USB charging, and incredibly SIMPLE, CLEAR and INTUITIVE operation via a Sharp Memory-LCD display that delivers e-ink clarity with NO VISIBLE DISPLAY LAG.
Finally - price-per-device. This is based on the best-value individual item (if available), or kit (by dividing by the number of devices in each manufacturers kit), and based on typical prices and US $ exchange rates in 2025).
*Lux (lx) are a measure of the light intensity per unit area, in this case falling on a light meter on axis with the light source.
**Lumens (lm) are a measure of the total light output by a light source in any direction.
†Z-RAY is compatible with any USB charger, and fast charges from all common fast-chargers. Chauvet Freedom H1 and Astera PixelBlock require their respective proprietary chargers to be used.
††Unlike some other products, Z-RAY is designed with an always-on display and an extremely long fully-charged standby time of at least several months.
